The British Lung Foundation have have published new guidelines to help people with COPD and their health care professionals who manage their condition at this time.
What it’s all about: it’s more important than ever to make sure you’re managing your COPD well. Our new guidance tells you what you need to know to self-manage and what extra precautions to take while you’re social distancing.
Why you should care: if you live with COPD, you’re at a higher risk of severe complications if you get coronavirus. It’s important you follow social distancing advice particularly carefully.
1 thing to remember: most people with severe COPD will have got a shielding letter advising them to follow social sheilding advice. But more letters are being sent following reviews by specialist clinicians and GPs, and people identified in this way will get a letter shortly.
